Casper Sun searches the city for the girl who got away or never even existed in the first place.
This is what it feels like to be in love with someone who doesn’t love you back. “Wavy Luv” captures the subtle undercurrent of longing and unrequited love in this seemingly happy pop song. Drawing heavy inspiration from Wong Kar Wai’s “In The Mood For Love” (2001) and “Fallen Angels” (1985), we experimented with the in-camera technique of step-printing and designed our set, lighting scenarios, and locations to reimagine vintage Hong Kong.
“Wavy Luv” is a true culmination of our indie production company’s collective mania: the obsession with the imaginary, the neurotic pursuit for the unattainable, the rage & hysteria that comes when reality settles – all wrapped up in the kaleidoscope of our favorite city in Los Angeles - Chinatown.
